Creating new open and inclusive spaces in and around the whole site is important for many people. This could be achieved by creating a new pedestrian route through the site with interlocking spaces that contribute to a vibrant local culture with, for example, a market and performance spaces. However, there are concerns that this approach could create conflicts with other uses on the site e.g. residents living on upper floors, neighbouring businesses etc.
